Forty-five minutes on the property with a portable kit. We work through your actual trees and stone so you can say yes or no to an effect instead of to a rendering.

You get the proposal in writing.
Fixture counts, zones, beam spreads, transformer sizing and itemized pricing. One document, no verbal add-ons.

You decide, or you don't.
The proposal is yours either way. There is no deposit to hold a design and no follow-up sequence — if the timing is next spring, we'll book next spring.

Toronto, Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga and Vaughan, plus the townships in between. The person who designs your system is on site the day it gets aimed.
Head office is 54 Steeles Ave E, Unit 24, Milton, Ontario L9T 4X1. Consultations run year-round; installation slows between January and March when the ground is frozen, and that is the best time of year to book a spring build.

What actually happens at the consultation?
We arrive with a portable demonstration kit — the same brass fixtures we install, on temporary leads. We walk the property with you and mark out what gets lit and what doesn't: the facade, a specimen tree, the walkway, the stone. You see the fixtures themselves, the beam spreads available and the 3000K warm white we use, on your own architecture rather than in a rendering. We ask what you use the yard for, where you come and go, and what you dislike about lighting you've seen elsewhere. It takes about 45 minutes. Nothing gets installed and nothing gets quoted on the spot.
How soon can you come out?
Usually inside two weeks, and often the same week outside the June-to-August peak. Because the person who designs your system is also running installations, the calendar tightens in summer — booking two weeks ahead is normal then. Installation lead time is separate: from a signed proposal, most Signature-tier projects go in the ground within three to five weeks. Estate-scale work with custom controls runs longer, because fixtures are ordered to the design rather than pulled from stock. Systems booked in January or February get the first spring installation slots.
Do I need to be home for the walk?
Yes, and that is deliberate. The whole point of designing on site is that you tell us what you think while you're standing in front of it — which effects you like, which ones feel like too much, where the light should stop. Forty-five minutes in your own driveway saves two rounds of revisions later. If these decisions get made jointly with a partner, get both of them there. We would rather reschedule than design a system for one person and re-aim it for two.
Do you charge for the proposal?
No. The consultation and the written proposal are both free, and the proposal is yours to keep whether or not you hire us. It contains fixture counts by zone, beam spreads, transformer sizing, control architecture and itemized pricing. We publish our tier ranges on the pricing page for the same reason — the fastest way to lose an afternoon is to quote a $9,000 system to someone who was picturing $3,000. Inspection of an existing system installed by someone else is the one paid visit: $195 flat.
