Landscape lighting ยท Caledon
Landscape lighting in Caledon. Under dark skies.
Caledon East, Palgrave, Terra Cotta and Belfountain sit where the Niagara Escarpment meets the Oak Ridges Moraine. Stone, hills and dark rural skies. Light here has to be beautiful and disciplined.
The local condition
Stone, slopes, and light seen for kilometres.
Caledonโs rural properties are rich in natural material: limestone outcrops, fieldstone walls, mature hardwoods and long views across open land. These are exactly the surfaces that come alive under warm, low light.
The catch is visibility. On open, rolling land with dark skies, a single badly aimed fixture can be seen from the next concession. Shielding and low output arenโt a preference here; theyโre the whole point.
Slopes and stone also change the install. Wire is routed around rock and down grades, and fixtures are set so they stay aimed as the ground moves through freeze and thaw.
Neighbourhoods
Four parts of Caledon, four landscapes.
Caledon East.
Newer estate homes and larger lots near the village. Facade and arrival first, with the rear view across open land designed as carefully.
Estate lots ii.Palgrave.
Rolling, wooded moraine country with equestrian properties. Long approaches and big trees, lit low.
Wooded and rolling iii.Terra Cotta.
Escarpment terrain and the Credit River valley. Stone and slope are the features worth lighting.
Escarpment stone iv.Belfountain.
A small hamlet near the Forks of the Credit, with older homes and rugged lots. Restraint, and hardware kept out of sight.

What changes in the country.
-
i.
Graze the stone.
Fieldstone, limestone and stone walls look their best grazed from close in, which shows texture rather than flattening it.
-
ii.
Work with the grade.
Wire runs follow the land around rock and down slopes, and fixtures are set to hold their aim through freeze and thaw.
-
iii.
Keep the sky dark.
Every fixture is shielded and aimed at its target, at 3000K and low output. The house glows; the horizon doesnโt.
-
iv.
Plan for distance.
Long runs are planned for voltage so the far fixtures match the near ones, with transformers loaded to about 80% of rating.

Caledon questions
Answered plainly.
How much does landscape lighting cost in Caledon?
The same tiers we publish for every city, with no extra charge for coming to Caledon. A focused front-of-house design with 10 to 20 brass fixtures runs $3,000 to $5,500. A fully designed property with 20 to 35 fixtures runs $5,500 to $11,000, where most homes land. Rural properties with long runs, pools and app-controlled scenes run $11,000 to $21,000, and larger grounds with custom controls start around $28,000. Every range includes fixtures, wire, transformers, trenching, commissioning and warranty.
Do you charge extra to come to Caledon?
No. Caledon is one of our outer service areas and is priced exactly like our five core cities: the same published tiers, the same free 45-minute evening demo, and the same written, itemized proposal.
Is landscape lighting dark-sky friendly?
It can be, and ours is by default. Every fixture is shielded, aimed down or at a specific target, and run at 3000K and low output, so light lands on your property rather than in the sky or across the neighbouring fields.
