Landscape lighting · Newmarket

Landscape lighting in Newmarket. Tight frontages, lit with care.

Stonehaven, Glenway and the streets around Fairy Lake put houses closer together than the estate pockets further south. Lighting them well is mostly about restraint: the right few fixtures, aimed tightly, so the light stays on your lot.

The local condition

Closer neighbours, so every beam counts.

Much of Newmarket is newer subdivision housing, on lots where the side yard is a few metres wide and the neighbour’s windows face yours. A design that would look generous on a deep Toronto lot can feel like a floodlight here.

The answer is fewer, better-aimed fixtures. Shielded brass at 3000K, each pointed at one thing — a stone facade, a specimen tree, the step at the front door — and nothing pointed at the property line.

Older streets near Fairy Lake and the historic Main Street have mature trees and older brick, which reward soft grazing and a little moonlight from the canopy rather than bright uplighting.

Working in Newmarket

What changes on a Newmarket lot.

  • i.

Aim for the lot, not the street.

Every fixture is shielded and aimed at its target. On a narrow side yard, that is the difference between a lit path and light in the neighbour’s bedroom.

    Shielded · Aimed tight · 3000K
  • ii.

Light the step, not the sky.

Low path and step lights at the entry do more for safety than one bright fixture on the garage, and they read better from the street.

    Low, warm, purposeful
  • iii.

    Size for the whole property.

Even when phase one is just the front, transformers are loaded to about 80% of rating and wire is sized for the finished system, so the back garden drops in later without re-trenching.

    Built for phase two
  • iv.

    Come back after dark.

Every fixture is aimed on a separate evening visit with you there, then checked again inside 30 days.

Newmarket questions

Answered plainly.

How much does landscape lighting cost in Newmarket?

The same tiers we publish for every city, with no extra charge for coming to Newmarket. A focused front-of-house design with 10 to 20 brass fixtures runs $3,000 to $5,500. A fully designed property with 20 to 35 fixtures runs $5,500 to $11,000, where most homes land. Rear gardens with patios, steps and app-controlled scenes run $11,000 to $21,000. Every range includes fixtures, wire, transformers, trenching, commissioning and warranty.

Do you charge extra to come to Newmarket?

No. Newmarket is one of our outer service areas and is priced exactly like our five core cities: the same published tiers, the same free 45-minute evening demo, and the same written, itemized proposal.

Our lot is narrow. Will the light bother the neighbours?

It shouldn’t. Everything we install is 3000K, shielded and aimed at a specific target, and every fixture is aimed on an evening visit with you there. On tight lots we use fewer fixtures at lower output rather than more.
